Forester

An application that allows users to create their own family trees, centered around a person. It supports ascending (parents, grandparents, etc.), descending (kids, grandkids, etc.), as well as horizontal (siblings, cousins) branches, and gives the possibility to export the tree in the form of an interactive webpage that can be opened in any device with an up-to-date browser.

It has an easy-to-understand GUI that allows the user to edit the tree's details, and manage the list of people in the tree, as well as their details. It also checks for any potential errors when exporting the tree, such as people in the tree that don't have any connection to the person in the center.

The application allows the user to upload documents and photos, and attach them to either a person or the entire family tree. A practical use of this feature would be sharing family photos that would otherwise be lost to time.

The tree data file can easily be shared by simply sending it to the person you want to be able to open it. It can optionally be encrypted if the user so chooses to.
